AMC Congratulates USPS for Malcolm X Stamp
With the Name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
Washington, DC - December 4, 1998 -- The American Muslim Council (AMC)
congratulates the United States Postal Service (USPS) for rendering due
recognition to the late African American Muslim leader Al-Hajj Malek Al
Shabaz (Malcom X) with a postal stamp in its Black Heritage Series.

in arriving at this momentous decision to honor a man who not only transferred
himself but
whose examples continue to inspire and enlighten not only Americans but people
worldwide.
AMC Director, Aly Ramadan Abuzakuk said that Malcolm X is a good
beginning. He assured that his organization will continue to work and
cooperate with the USPS to fulfill the aspirations of over 6 million
Muslim Americans who are playing an active role as citizens of this
nation. He said that the American Muslims look forward to stamps
commemorating Muslim holidays like Eid a Fitr.
The Director said that Muslims have a tradition of rendering thanks when
due and the American Muslim community will certainly render its due to
conveying its appreciation to the USPS authorities
